Hello world! It's been a while since my last episode. I apologise, but ive been crazy busy with production and promoting my debut single 'Jumeirah Jane' and sorting out various different things in life that i just dont have the time (or money!) to keep doing this thing regularly anymore =( But have no fear, i will try my best to upload a new mix as often as i can, this podcast has over 15,000 subscribers now so i can't leave you guys in the dark!...it just won't be monthly or as regularly as before anymore that's all! The recession affects DJs too ya know! and buying music and server space and artwork n shit don't come cheap! haha =)

Anyhoo, managed to squeeze in about 17 tracks in this episode, so i hope that makes up for it

First mix of the new year! So I've decided to change the concept of Indulgence ever so slightly to keep things new/fresh/exciting etc. My style has also leaned towards progressive and electro house but i felt i was restricting myself a bit too much and there are far too many genres out there for me to stick to just two! So instead of "the best in progressive and electro house" , indulgence is now "the best in electronic music" So it'll still be the indulgence you know and love but with a BIT of a twist to it! =)

Seeing as its the christmas/new years season, this episode is EVER SO SLIGHTLY on the commercial side with remixes of pop acts like lady sovereign and...wait for it...BRITNEY SPEARS! You'll be pleasantly surprised with the latter though cos its an awesome remix from electro house maestro 'wolfgang gartner'

yes INDULGENCE is the number ONE podcast in the WHOLE WORLD!!!

ahem fine fine, im kidding, what i really mean is INDULGENCE turns one this month.

I remember a year ago i didnt have a clue as to what a podcast is, let alone start my own one. So i googled it and signed up for it and got a mix up and got all excited about it, but after a month i had only about 15 subscribers. That definitely put a damper on spirits and i wasn't really feeling this whole podcast thing and thought of scraping the whole idea, but i felt like i had a FAIRLY good thing going so i stuck with it. FAST FORWARD TO NOVEMBER 2009 AND INDULGENCE HAS OVER 2000 SUBSCRIBERS AND NEARLY 10,000 DOWNLOADS!!!! =D

So i recently heard someone refer to the bathroom as the 'comfort room'. Please tell me im not the only person who finds that absolutely fookin hilarious. I mean your only going to be in there for a few minutes, surely you cant get...erm...comfortable. Unless you use the bathroom for other purposes (what those other purposes are i leave to you, you filthy minded people), then the term would be more appropriate.

This girl who i took on a date recently said i talk 'a lot' but at the same time she seemed interested to what i had to say, which led me to realize that there's a huge difference between talking 'a lot' and talking 'too much'. Talking 'a lot' means that that you can keep a conversation going on with the most random/non condescending topic, leaving no space for awkward silences. Talking 'too much' means that you either bore/annoy the shit out of the person your talking to or are a narcissist.

MOVING ALONG from my randomness, i am truly humbled and delighted by all your messages/comments/whathaveyou for my micheal jackson tribute mix, brought a huge smile to my face. I don't even know where to begin with this.

There are lots of of words like "hypocrites" and "closet fans" amongst others, floating around surrounding Michael's death. I was never a "closet" Michael fan, I've always openly praised his music all the time and I'm not trying to do the "cool thing" by making a big deal out of this.

I don't care much about hearing famous people die, it probably raises my eyebrow for a whole two seconds before i move on with my life. There's thousands of people dieing in Iran as we speak, poverty in Africa etc. etc. and that makes me sad everyday of my life and probably deserves more attention than any celebrity.

But to me, Michael was bigger than Elvis, bigger than the Beatles and bigger than Bob Dylan.

His music was such an integral and personal part of my childhood (and life in general), that i REALLY cannot help but be emotional about this.

His music was as big a deal in my childhood as pacman, WWF and Archie Comics. Heck, I even remember playing his video game "Moonwalker" on the sega mega drive system!

His music made me enthusiastic about music.

Sure, I havn't been listening to his music much lately and its unfortunate that his recent years have showed him as a "complete pyscho", and i myself am a bit guilty of making fun of him back when all the stories came out, but i know for a fact that none of its true and i refuse to believe the media in any way whatsoever, whether its about Michael or anything else. And it didnt make me respect his music any less.

But after this incident, the MOMENT i started listening to old MJ tracks i was immediately mentally transported back to my younger days and all the moments and memories that were attached to these songs. And they were so vivid, it felt like it was yesterday. It was almost like watching an old video tape of your 10th birthday for the first time in decades. I feel really weird saying this but, it almost felt like Michael was a part of my family. It also goes to show the power music can have, and if that isn't an inspiration to any musician, I really dont know what is. I can honestly say that no other legendary artist has had such a personal attachment to my life. No one.

I will always have an undying respect for Michael and there will never be another artist in the history of music as timeless as him as far as im concerned

About the mix:

Instead of just browsing through the internet for a bunch of remixed bootlegs and putting them together, I decided to make my own "mashups" by combining the original songs with house tracks. It's not exactly mind blowing, as mixing two genres is probably the hardest thing to do and ive NEVER done anything like this before, but hey its definitely different to anything else out there and it feels a bit more personal this way. Some of the tracks are, in a way, related to Michael. For example i can't think of a more appropriate lyric than in Calvin Harris' track when he sings "I can't do this anymore". Of course some of the tracks have nothing to do with him and are just part of the podcast as usual! Either way, hope you enjoy it =)

Hello, and welcome to Episode 8 of my podcast =)

So Paris Hilton is in Dubai and there seems to be a picture of her everywhere i look and every nightclub is promoting "an appearance" by her. Whether she makes an appearance or not is besides the point. Can someone please tell me what exactly she's famous for again?

I have two wisdom teeth that need to be taken out. It's not like there are enough hardships in life as it is such as...erm....economic recessions, sickness, staying alive, finding a purpose, keeping your stomach from developing into a giant beach ball and McDonalds not serving jalapeno cheese strips anymore.

In a little over 6 months, this podcast now has over 1100 subscribers with people from the US, Australia, England, Brazil, India, Japan (how the hell did it reach there???), to name a few, telling me how much they appreciate it! That's just absolutely ridiculous and can't thank you guys enough!

Hello, and welcome to Episode 7 of my podcast =)

Been running around like a headless chicken this month - my brother got engaged (another one bites the dust =P), wrote a whole bunch of new tracks that im REALLY stoked about AND im dj-ing with house music legend, Martijn Ten Velden, which erm...still hasn't hit me yet. It's an absolute honor and pleasure, one which i never thought would happen after only about one year of me being involved in the DJ scene.

Oh AND I'm turning 24 in a week. Almost a QUARTER OF A CENTURY old. Which means that i only have about 6 years to really enjoy life. Whats that? What do you mean there's life after 30? There's really not. Once you hit 30 all you're concerned about is getting married and trying no to get pissed off at the person you've just married and having kids and getting more comfy in that seat in front of the tv and trying desperately to fight that increasingly stubborn beer belly

*sigh* =P

This month's podcast has some absolute GEMS in it including a track called "For my love" by Darone. When i first heard i thought it was one of the most "beautifully" written house tracks i had ever heard in my life. What a T U N E. There's also tracks from house music's finest Sebastien Leger, Eric Prdyz (under his pryda alias), Wolfgang Gartner and a pretty crazy, quirky tune that im not quite sure most of you will like, called "Satisfy Me".
